Family Tradition

Saturday turned out to be a big day in the lives of the Waldrop family. Hunter Waldrop, who has latched to the hunting traditions of both his father and grandfather, bagged his first deer on a morning drive with the Grange Hall Hunt Club. All of us fathers are extremely proud when our sons and daughters begin to tag along with us wherever we go, and even more so when they eventually cling to the outdoor past times that we cherish. Congratulations Hunter!

As exciting as sharing time with our children in the outdoors can be, it ought to pale in comparison to the joy we as parents feel when our children make wise life decisions, and eventually become young adults full of wisdom and stature.
But they will not become wise if we do not invest time and energy in their lives, or if we exhibit poor examples or morals. What type of example are you setting, and what type of leader are you being for your children? They are waiting and watching for much needed guidance and direction. - GE

"Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that's in you, love him with all you've got! Write these commandments that I've given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night" (Deuteronomy 6:4-7, The Message).
